Silhouette portrait

I've seen these all over the place, they're adorable! I had to make one for Emma's room, and I happened to have all the supplies on hand. So what's stopping me?

What you'll need:
Black and white card stock
Glue
Picture frame

Find a good side portrait of the person you're doing this for. I did some digging through my pictures and found this one.
I zoomed in so that it would be the right size to fit in the frame. Put your paper up to your monitor to trace it. I used regular lined note paper, it's easy enough to see through.
Cut out your silhouette and trace it onto your black card stock.
Smear glue all over the back. I suggest using a paint brush or your fingers. You don't want to just drizzle the glue on the back, because it will be bumpy on the other side.
Take your white card stock and cut it to the proper size for your frame.
Center and paste your silhouette to the card stock.
I had this frame sitting around. A few months back, I bought some mirrors from the dollar store. I popped out the mirrors and painted the frames to use for other projects. Any ideas of what I could use the mirrors for?
Secure your silhouette in the frame, and you're done!

  7. Awesome! Much easier than expected. As for the mirrors, you could use them as candle trays, make jewelry boxes with them in therr lid, glue tiles around the outside and hang with a ribbon or a picture hanger on the back...
