Fabric Flowers

I love making these fabric flowers. They're so fun and cute, you can do so many things with them! Not to mention, they are EASY. Here's how.
Take a strip of fabric. You don't need much.
You'll need 5 squares of fabric, about 2 inches by 2 inches. You can make whatever size you want, it will just make the flower a different size. Try making a few flowers in different sizes and see how they turn out! Better yet, try out 5 different squares of fabric in coordinating colors and patterns.
Cut your squares to be about the same size. Fold them into quarters, and trim off a corner in a nice rounded cut.
Once you have all 5 trimmed, you can start sewing. The color of your thread won't matter, no one will see it. I used white. Take your threaded needle and weave it back and forth through the trimmed edge of your folded fabric square. It'll look like this.
Do that will all five until you have them all on a string, like this.
Now pull them all together until they scrunch up. Now it's starting to look more like a flower!
Once you get it as tight as you can, sew the two end petals together, just slightly overlapping.
Almost done! Now you just need some kind of embellishment for the center. You can use rhinestones, beads, whatever. I had some pearl beads on hand, so I used them. Before I even trimmed my thread, I stuck the bead on there and secured it. Tada! I chose to glue mine to an alligator clip so I could clip it in my hair or on a headband. Emma acted as my model this time.
